Join a community of musicians exploring all aspects of performing traditional music on the acoustic guitar. Whether you’re looking to refine your technique, develop a more distinctive musical voice or find fresh inspiration in your playing, each session offers practical ideas you can take straight to your instrument.

Together we’ll explore the skills that bring traditional music to life: technique, tone, rhythm, groove, phrasing, harmony, accompaniment, learning by ear, improvisation, extemporisation, repertoire and much more. Suitable for confident beginners through to advanced players.

The workshops are led by Dave Malkin, an experienced performer, workshop leader and teacher who has taught at institutions and festivals including Centre for Young Musicians, Guildhall Young Artists, Folkworks, Aldeburgh Young Musicians, Cambridge Folk Festival and Halsway Manor.

Sessions take place live on Saturdays at 9am (UK time) via Zoom and last approximately one hour.
